Pierce Group Benefits’ DeVan Barbour and Jim Dubovec Promoted to Benefits Consultants

Pierce Group Benefits, a full service provider of employee benefits packages, recently promoted two members of its enrollment team, DeVan Barbour and Jim Dubovec.  Barbour and Dubovec began Pierce Group Benefits as Benefits Counselors in 2009 and 2008 respectively, and now hold the positions of Benefits Consultants.  Both began serving in their new roles in July of 2010.

“Pierce Group has been extremely fortunate over the past several years that our client base has continued to grow despite a struggling economy,” says Donald Pierce, President of Pierce Group Benefits.  “DeVan and Jim have both done a great job as Benefit Counselors since joining Pierce Group and they both possess exceptional skills that will fit nicely within their new roles.” 

As Benefits Consultants, Barbour and Dubovec are primarily responsible for seeking out new business opportunities, building new relationships and maintaining existing ones. The two are also responsible for making sure existing clients are compliant on changing health care reform laws and regulations. Additionally, Barbour and Dubovec actively consult clients’ current employee benefits packages to ensure comprehensive and cost effective benefits for both employers and employees. 

“I truly enjoyed serving in my previous role with Pierce Group for the past two years,” says Dubovec.  “I am extremely excited and am looking forward to taking on and overcoming the challenges of this new role as a Benefits Consultant.”

Barbour joined Pierce Group Benefits in 2009 as a Benefits Counselor and quickly achieved a tier eight status; the highest tier that can be reached.  Higher tier rankings are achieved by earning a certain number of sales credits within the first year of employment.  He also earned the spot as the number one Benefits Counselor in the nation in the months leading up to his promotion at Pierce Group. Dubovec joined Pierce Group Benefits in 2008 as a Benefits Counselor and also quickly moved up the ranks to become one of the company’s most successful Benefits Counselors. In a short amount of time Dubovec achieved a tier six status.
