EXISTING VOLUNTARY POLICIES
Your individual voluntary policies through Colonial Life are portable! To transfer your benefits from payroll deduction to direct billing, please call PGB’s Employee Services at 888-662-7500 within 30 days of becoming unemployed, switching careers, or retiring.

TRANSFERRING EMPLOYERS?
If you are transferring from a current Pierce Group Benefits client to another, some of your benefits may be eligible for transfer. Please call PGB’s Employee Services at 888-662-7500 within 30 days of your date of hire at your new employer for assistance.

NORTH CAROLINA STATE HEALTH PLAN INSURANCE
Under certain qualifying events, employees and dependents have the opportunity to continue coverage for 18-36 months under the COBRA Act. Please contact the North Carolina State Health Plan at 1-877-679-6272. If you are retiring, you must either log into www.myncretirement.com or call 1-877-679-6272.
Additional Individual/Family Coverage Options
Alternative coverage is also available through Pierce Group Benefits. The following benefits can be self-enrolled online or by contacting PGB’s Employee Services. You are eligible to sign-up the first day after the end date of your employer-sponsored plan.

What are the eligibility requirements?
As long as you’re not employed by a current PGB account, you’re qualified and there are no eligibility requirements! From the retired to the unemployed, anyone can sign up, at anytime no matter your current status.
If you are transferring from one active PGB account to another, please DO NOT sign up for these individual policies. Please contact our Service Center so that we may help you with transferring your benefits.
What kind of plans are offered?
For both Dental and Vision, there are multiple plans for you to choose from to suit your needs. There are also tiered rates that include Individual, Individual +1, and Family.
For Telemedicine, there are two plan options: Individual and Family.
How soon can I get coverage?
As soon as the next day!*
*For Dental applications placed prior to the 20th of the month, you may choose to start your coverage the 1st of the current month, or the 1st of the next month. For Vision, your coverage will begin the next business day.
Can I get coverage for my family?
Yes! Individual and Family coverage options are available for Dental, Vision, and Telemedicine.
How do I pay for individual plans?
At the time of sign up, you’ll have the choice to connect a bank account or debit/credit card as your form of payment.
